| 20ID wins CAL-BFV season 2! |

After an intense 2 weeks of 4 playoff matches, 20ID emerged on top of the north american BFV scene, winning CAL-BFV for the second season in a row. In the semi-finals we defeated Blackjack Brigade in an intense 3 rounds on Quang Tri 1968, and 3 days later we defeated Team Warchild in the finals on Operation Hastings, winning 2-0. Good games to everyone we've scrimmed or matched this season.
20ID will not be competing in CAL-BFV season 3. There are a few reasons for this:
1. We are going to be concentrating on winning the BFV World Tournament because we need new video cards!
2. Some of us are interested in other games, like ETF (due out this christmas) and the evils of World of Warcraft.
3. Some of us just need a break! We've got nothing left to prove in BFV, really.
4. Might as well give other teams a chance to win it ^__^
Of course alot of us are looking forward to BF2, but that is a few months off, so there's no point getting ahead of ourselves. Regardless, it is starting to look like it will be a good game, better than BF42 or BFV were.

During a week or so of tough matches, 20ID made like a diamond and came out sparkling under pressure. Wins against Warchild and Paradigm Shift in CAL allowed us to finish the regular season undefeated, giving us the #1 seed going into the playoffs. In the BFV World Tournament, they had the crazy idea to match up 2 of North America's top teams in the first week of round robin play - us and Warchild. 20ID came out on top here as well, putting us in position to take #1 in our division. We will probably meet both Paradigm Shift and/or Warchild again in the playoffs for both leagues, and we look forward to it, as they always give us a good fight and a fun game.
In other news, our non-BFV people are still eagerly awaiting the release of ETF. Some others have already taken up World of Warcraft, and from what I hear most of them are playing on the Illidan server. I'm quite out of the loop as far as WoW goes, silly MMORPGs. In any event, it seems to be a decent game, as there's a good amount of stuff to do, and not as much time to waste on leveling up compared to older MMORPGs like Everquest. |

It's been a while since the last update, but what can I say, we're lazy. We're in the middle of CAL-BFV season 2, and so far things are going well. We've also entered into a worldwide BFV tournament - Link Here - in which the top prize is 12 GeForce 6800 GTs. Not only are those cards sweet and worth playing for, it will be nice to finally see how our team stacks up against Europe's best.
EDIT: Forgot about Australia! |

BFV recruitment is closed. Welcome chlorox and manbeef to the BFV team - they have bolstered our ranks and we're now in good shape for season 2 of CAL-BFV. It's going to be a shortened season, due to some CAL policies involving other divisions and CPL. Regular season starts next week, and we're itching to get rolling with that.
So yes, 20ID is sticking with BFV for one more season. As far as other games go, we have quite a few old 20ID players waiting for the release of a new Fortress game, either ETF or D3F or something. If they get bored waiting, they might just start playing regular ET again. We'll have more info about this later. |

| 20ID is looking for a few tight assed men... |
|
|
 |
 |
20ID is going to need a few characters to fill out our roster for season 2 - a helicopter pilot, and a few versatiles. Of course, we're only looking for the best - in skill, attitude and dedication. Applicants should be mature, be active on most weekday nights, have a good sense of humor, have enough experience to run with us, and be willing to change playing styles to benefit the team.
Contact jamison in #20id on irc.gamesurge.net if you think you can help us out.
P.S. men liking is required, not optional. |

| 20ID Wins CAL BFV Season 1 Championship |
|
|
 |
 |
20ID played Team Warchild this past Wednesday to figure out who was the champion of CAL BFV Season 1. The map was Ho Chi Mihn Trail, one of 20ID's stronger maps, due to the fact it was the map we won the TWL 8v8 Tournament on several months earlier.
The first round 20ID was on defense and we did a relatively good job. Warchild had a very different offensive strat, in which, they went mostly defensive after ridding themselves of the bleed. For the most part, it was very effective, as our lead steadily decreased as the round went on.
Luckily, we prepared for this and we moved a tunnel past Warchild with the goal of capturing their main base, securing a bleed, and throwing off their strat. It was successful and we managed to win the round by roughly 50 tickets.
On the Allies side, we were confident in our ability to capture the first NVA point with a quickness not usually seen since we originally implemented the mortar bombardment strat several months ago. The round started and we captured the flag on the first rush, a very good sign for things to come. As we steadily advanced towards the temple, I noticed we were winning the kill ratio and catching up extremely quickly; we had the lead in tickets before both teams dropped below 100 total.
Once temple was secure, we made sure we protected our flanks and rear points, while holding them off from any offensive behavior. We flanked several infantry on numerous occasions in an attempt to throw them off and achieve a bleed. These flanking missions almost worked on three or more occasions, but Warchild was able to re-capture the points we had grayed out and prevent a bleed.
20ID ended up winning the finals match with a round score of 2-0. I would like to thank DATS Gaming Servers for hosting the CAL Finals as a 20ID partner and BFRadio for shoutcasting the match and hosting a scorebot. We would also like to thank CAL and the teams that participated in CAL for a successful season. Good games to Warchild and perhaps we will see you dudes next season. |

With a win over Northern Brigade, 20ID has advanced to the CAL Finals. We do not know who our opponent will be yet, since Warchild and Paradigm Shift play this Sunday, in what is sure to be a good Semi-Finals match. The Finals will be played on Wednesday October 6th.

| 20ID faced Blackjack Brigade last night in the CAL Quarter Finals and came out victorious on Hue 1968. The other match on our side of the bracket concluded with a win for Revival versus NBrigade. However, it was Revival's last match and they have quit competitive BFV due to roster issues and lack of desire to compete in a game they dislike. Therefore, 20ID will face NBrigade in the Semi-Finals on Operation Game Warden next Wednesday. |

| 20ID Finishes CAL Regular Season - Wins TWL 12v12 |
|
|
 |
 |
Yesterday was a big day for 20ID as we finished the CAL regular season with a record of 8-0 after beating Revival on Cambodian Incursion in a very close match that went to three rounds. A difference of about 15 tickets allowed us to have side choice in the third round which ultimately led to our 2-1 victory.
Before the CAL match with Revival, we played Lethal Kaos for the TWL 12v12 League Championship on Ho Chi Mihn Trail. We played pretty well and had some fun, winning the match with a round score of 2-0. |

With the month of September rolling around, 20ID has reached 2 historic milestones - our clan is now 6 years old, and we have played 500 matches. Hooray! \o\ \o/ /o/ (At the time of this post, our overall record in all games is 426 wins and 74 losses).
This tells alot about our stability and longevity - very few clans survive to be 6 years old, and fewer still get that old without going inactive at one point. We've been active for our entire 6 year history. If you would like to get more details about our history, check the other sections on the webpage - Roster, Matches and About 20ID.
Anyway, I'd like to thank all of the members 20ID has had over the years, especially the team leaders and server contributors. 20ID may not always be the best clan in competition, but in my opinion 20ID is the most fun clan to be a part of, and that's why I've stuck around for 6 years. So, yeah... Hooray for us! \o/ |

Just figured I'd post some news about what's been going on in 20ID recently. We've added a few wins over some pretty good clans over the past few weeks, good games to everyone we played. We're possibly thinking about attending some lans soon, there's one coming up in NJ in a month or so, we will see how that goes.
But most important news is that it was my birthday today (21st) so happy bday me...

TWL has conducted some additional investigation in to the SuperSquat public server Punkbuster screenshot and they have updated their ruling. TWL has concluded that SuperSquat was cheating at the time of the screenshot and they have banned him from all TWL events.
[Irrenarzt|TWL] It was a preliminary decision that I really shouldn't have brought to you yet (so I apologize). Once senior staff took notice, they made some very valid points... and when I found the hack, it compounded to the final decision - which is SuperSquats ban.
This new TWL ruling also results in a change on our stance. Although we have nothing against SuperSquat as an individual and we are still not 100% certain whether or not this was all due to a glitch or an unknown circumstance, we will follow TWL's ruling, as we have been doing since this issue first came up.
As of today, SuperSquat has been removed from our rosters. |

Yesterday, We had fun in the [PII] match. It was nice to play them again considering the loss to them on SoKS. We prepared appropriately this time, and won.
Today we played SOKS vs. =0C= and had no problem winning. It was fun, and =0C= were ready on time and very pleasant.
And on a different note, BF2 looks promising. We look forward to playing it. |

EDIT by ginc:
This situation isn't resolved just yet, 20ID and TWL are still discussing things. More to come later.
A few days ago, [20ID]Supersquat and [20ID]Dannyboy were playing on the NWO clan server. During this time, Supersquat was admittedly in a very bad mood and was "talking trash" with members of the NWO team. Supersquat was suddenly kicked and banned from the server and dannyboy asked the NWO team why he was banned; NWO responded that he was cheating.
Roughly 20 minutes after leaving the server, the NWO team submitted a punkbuster screenshot to Dannyboy that showed Supersquat with a CAR15, inside of a building, showing two Allied infantry on his 3D Map display. The screenshot also showed the health of the two infantry, which was represented by a 100% marker near the teammates names; this is not a normal 3D map feature.
20ID reviewed this screenshot internally, questioned Supersquat, went in to our server to try and duplicate this screenshot, and finally submitted the screenshot to TWL for review. We essentially had no idea how to react or make judgement based on this screenshot. TWL have since investigated Supersquat and they have come to a conclusion after several days. Their conclusion is simple - the punkbuster screenshot was non-conclusive and did not display enough variables to make a negative ruling. However, Supersquat has since been put on probation by TWL. Supersquat adamantly denies any wrong doing and does not know why the 100% markers were displayed on his 3D map. We as a team do not think it's right to question the integrity of a 29 year old individual who has no history of cheating or questionable playing morality. Supersquat has not only been actively playing in online competition for the last few years, but he has also attended various LAN events, competing with and against his fellow BFV players.
While the rest of the community will undoubtably form their own opinion, in the eyes of 20ID, CAL, and TWL; Supersquat is not a cheater. If any of our members are kicked by Punkbuster for cheating or are shown to be cheating in a match by means of a screenshot, we will ban that person from our team without hesitation and automatically forfeit the match in question. We are open to any user developed anti cheat program, league endorsed anti cheating rules, and mandatory match screenshots. |

| So its been quite some times since I have updated anything here. In the time of our off season life has really caught up with me and spiral - working and taking summer classes left little time to be on to scrim every night with the clan. We made it to cal-m because of our performance in the open playoffs, again attributed to the dedication of my team and the want to win. We are looking forward to a very competative season in main. Because of this I think we are looking at one or two more spots for recruitment (we have already added to the roster, names will be announced soon). Hopefully I'll get to an update soon :) |

Recently our Battlefield Vietnam team picked up Screemer (jet pilot), Zieb (heli pilot) and sPloOsH (ground pounder). With them in our ranks, we have a very well rounded and active roster, and are looking forward to a good inaugural season of CAL-BFV. Welcome aboard guys! Now all they need is a few weeks of sensitivity training (hanging out with BizZ and bub on teamspeak), and they'll be flaming gay like the rest of us.
Also, even though Fum already mentioned this, I'd like to congratulate the CoD team on a productive first season. Like Fum said, more than half of our starters (and nearly all of our reserves) only had about a month of CoD experience headed into the playoffs, and they still managed to turn a few heads by making it to the conference semi-finals. Good luck in the next CAL season guys, and good luck to anyone that is trying out with them during the off season. |

Well we played rSports (revolution sports/insignificant others) tonight on dawnville. We had been struggling with the map for a little, especially since we only had two days to prep for it because of the cal playoff schedule, and rspots got the better of us. They started out winning the first three rounds on allied in what was just bad playing on our part. We came back to win the next six and dropped the last one making the half 6-4 in our favor. We lost on allies 7-2 with a 5v2 flop at the end, which could only be attributed to our lack of experience. rSports is a great clan and was very friendly during the scheduling of this match, gl to them in the rest of the playoffs. In the end I am very proud of the guys for making it this far with me. This is the first time I have ever led anything and while we had some differences in the beginning of how I led it it turned out alright in the end. With sykko, me, carcass, and fantom only playing cod for a month we surprised a lot of the calo community. Expect us to step up our game next season in main with some solid recruits as well.
That being said, it looks like tryouts are gonna get under way during this week as a lot of us just want to take a break from cod for a couple of days. The playoffs really took alot out of us but expect me to be in contact with you if you posted in our forums. |

Because Nutso is concerned about the bandwidth/traffic limit on this site, he asked me to remove the music on the main page. We've had alot of new visitors this month, probably because the very large Call of Duty community is starting to take notice of us :D
These people were probably all downloading a random song when they brought up this page, which adds up to alot of wasted bandwidth. Unfortunately, this means I had to remove the random music thingy. Don't worry though - the songs on the roster pages are still there!
p.s. You might notice some subtle changes to the site, and yes, I still suck at Photoshop \o/ |

Well we played ready ^ tonight on harbor and won very convincingly 11-2. We had a 9-1 hold as axis with a slip up on the last round, my fault i think for peeking when i shouldnt have :( Anyway we move onto the third round vs iso. and if we manage to beat them we move to the finals for our conference. All in all I am very proud of the cod team as a whole we have been growing extremely well and everyone seems to be getting along. I have an idea of one auto I would like to recruit for next season but I am still looking for another two dedicated people. I have recently been getting pms from a lot of people though, so the recruiting is going to become a little more difficult. Good luck to all and check back sunday to see how we did against iso!
On a side not I am very sorry to hear the ET team quit. ET was an awesome game and I loved playing it. I knew the ET guys very well and they are all a bunch of good players. Had ET gone to summer CPL we would still be playing it now with all the original 20ID members - but mad props to Newdeal for sustaining it for so long, I know it wasnt easy. Hope to see you guys in rtcw 2 :) |

Sadly, after months of fighting, we've decided to throw in the towel on 20ID ET. The spawning of the CoD division took 2 key players to the ET team, and we just couldn't recover from it.
It was a great experience for me, and the rest of the 20ID ET team, but its time for us to go to other teams, or just hang out in IRC and !jerk bub till he excess floods.
GG's to all of 20ID ET, and everyone we played. |

Well we had another tough loss last week on brecourt. Not making excuses again - we were just out played. Onto playoffs though - we got a #16 seed in the atlantic conference and we have to play #1 x6 on railyard. We have a pretty tough playoff road ahead of us - assuming we beat x6 we have to play the winner of ready^/gambino and then the winner of Chaos/Violentricoty/Negative Tension/Insignificant Others. Boy atlantic is stacked :(. Anyway here is the playoff brackets: http://brackets.noob.org/ (click atlantic). Luckily for us the four maps being featured in the playoffs happen to be very strong maps for us :o. Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs and check back on Sunday to see how we did!

It was a fantastic game versus Super Best Friends [sbf] in Battlefield Vietnam on Ho Chi Minh Trail. [sbf] came to the match ready to play and we thank them for the superb competition. That match was very fun to play in, and win.
I want to personally thank each and every 20ID for their continued dedication and devotion to this team. This win is what it's all about. Everyone did a terrific job. People who played in this match were: Bub, Dakota, Flake aka Flakey, Ginc, Jam, Kraxx too (sorry Kraxx), No Quiero aka Non Quiero, Scoobi aka Jerkface, and Speedy. Tbird, nutso, and Bizz were all ready to come in and kill bishes at any time and I thank them for that. Each player had their own highlights and great shots in this game. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Congrats to you.
Thank you Amped News (Batman reported), BFRadio (H-Street casted), and last but not least all the guys at TWL for your time and efforts, and for making this possible.

| BFV: 20ID vs Ravens - a closer look |

 |
WARNING: This post is very long.
Well, I was gone this weekend, and apparently I missed a hell of a dramafest after our BFV semi-final match unfolded. It seems that some members of the Ravens (aka Vanguard) are making a big stink over TWL's decision on the match, as seen at www.team-vanguard.com, this Amped News article, and the TWL Forums. I'm just posting here to make a rebuttal to their remarks, and to clear up any confusion that people might have about this debacle.
First of all, I'll explain a few things about this so-called "exploit" that 20ID used during the match. Essentially, on the ARVN side we used a kamikaze cobra loaded with C4 explosives to take out some of the NVA airfield towers (henceforth called the kamikaze strategy). In the end, this maneuver did not actually affect the match outcome that much (see match report below). However, some people are calling this an unfair exploit (especially our Vanguard friends), and I would like debunk this line of thought by providing mathematical proof of why it cannot be considered an exploit.
For a strategy to be considered an exploit in a game like BFV, the strategy must have a higher damage/time ratio than a so-called legit strategy - caused by flaws in the game code. This is the mathematical side of it. From the logical game balance point of view, an exploitative strategy must be overpowering and lack any decent counterstrategies. Below, I will outline how the kamikaze strategy fits neither of these. Emotional things such as "lameness" should not play any factor in determining if a strategy is an exploit - this allows for bias. A strategy can seem "lame" if a team is not prepared for it, but if a viable counterstrategy actually exists, then one can't fault lameness, only a lack of preparation or an unlucky strat call/miscommunication.
On Damage
The alternative to crashing a cobra full of C4 into a tower is to parachute people in on the tower itself, lay C4 on it, and blow it up (henceforth called the paratroop strategy). This is by no means an exploitative tactic - it is widely accepted, and Vanguard used it to blow up our towers. Now, what you need to understand about the towers themselves is how they take damage. Damage from explosives is calculated based on splash damage, and the damage will be greater if it is near the center of the square tower. Try laying 10 C4 on the sandbags on the edge of the base, and detonating them - the tower will have 10% health left. Next, try laying 10 of them at the center of the ground underneath a full-health tower, and detonate them - BOOM, down goes the tower. You can try this yourself on any server - it is a PROVEN FACT that 10 C4 sticks is enough to blow up a full-health tower. The kamikaze method employs 10 C4 sticks as well, and requires careful aim at the center of a tower to kill it - an off-center hit will leave the tower crippled but still standing. Thus, it can be proven that the kamikaze method does the same amount of damage as the conventional paratrooper method.
On Time
The time it takes to execute both strategies consists of 2 parts - the time to lay C4, and the time to travel from the helipad to the tower. The time it takes to lay the C4 in both strategies is exactly the same - assuming the same number of players is involved, you cannot speed up the laying of C4 whether you are doing it at the tower itself, or at the helipad. The travel time difference is negligible - the paratroop strategy requires a split second of extra time to drop from the helicopter to the base of the tower, but the kamikaze method requires a more careful, well-lined up approach, so the flying time will be a tiny bit longer. Given the randomness of player spawns, neither strategy could be proven to save time over the other.
On Game Balance and Counterstrategies
The obvious advantage to using the kamikaze strategy is that the C4 layers will not be in harm's way when they are planting the C4 - the paratrooper strategy can be countered with a dedicated infantry defender at the tower of choice (realistically it is not feasible to defend every tower in an 8v8, but you can choose your favorite). However, the kamikaze strategy also has a number of drawbacks - the 10-15 seconds of prep time (C4 planting) before takeoff can adversely affect the air battle. In fact, if the NVA's MiG-21s take a reasonably direct route at medium altitude, they can blow up the cobras before they even leave the ground. Again, if you don't believe me, grab a friend and try it out. During the match, Vanguard's MiG-21s actually flew directly over our cobras just as we were starting to cycle up and take off! Lucky for us, they didn't pay attention to the vulnerable cobra and instead went after our planes. If the cobra makes if off the ground, it will still be further away from the towers at a given time than if the paratroop strategy was used. This extra time makes the cobra more vulnerable to being shot down by NVA planes.
In short, when comparing the kamikaze strategy to the paratroop strategy:
- They both take the same amount of time to execute
- They both do the same amount of damage (kill the tower in one hit if done properly, leave the tower standing if done improperly)
- Both strategies can be countered with reasonable effectiveness (the counters differ slightly, each strategy has strengths and weaknesses)
The paratroop strategy has long been considered legit. Therefore, it should follow that the kamikaze strategy should also be considered legit.
Some people have claimed that because the landmine + jeep strategy is an illegal exploit in TWL, this should be too. The people who are claiming this are unaware of the reason behind the rule - it is NOT because the landmines destroy towers in one hit. It has already been shown that it is possible to down a tower in one shot with the paratroop strategy (again, try it on a server if you doubt me), and that is considered legal. The landmine/jeep strategy was banned because landmines are not supposed to do any damage to non-moving vehicles and buildings, and this was probably (according to my speculation) a factor in determining the TWL admins' decision on the kamikaze strategy.
Anyways, on to the match report itself. We had to start the NVA side without one of our jet pilots Speedy, so we subbed in Oblivion. He didn't do too hot, but that's life. Vanguard's airforce did really well, and managed to take down our MiG-17 tower early (we didn't bother to guard it with anything but planes). This allowed their Cobra tower to stay up for the majority of the round, and as a result we were unable to gain the upper hand in the air. We managed to hold out on the ground pretty well though, and gain the lead in tickets. However, midway through the round they managed to swing the bleed in their favor, as they staged an attack on the middle point with an infantry and Cobra combo. We eventually took out their Cobra tower, but we lost our MiG-21 tower as well, and their last Cobra did a good job staying up and getting the key frags to win the round 10-0.
Round 2 had Speedy making it online in time to play the ARVN side. At this point it was an uphill battle - we could not afford to lose the traditionally weaker ARVN side. We knew that our ground forces would need to be strong to win this one. We opened up by ramming a loaded cobra into the MiG-21 tower, but it didn't seem to change anything - Vanguard's MiG-17s did a right quick job on our Cobra tower and took it out shortly after the Cobra got up again. The Cobra attempted to take out the Mi-8 tower next, but failed, largely due to a MiG on its tail. Our Phantom tower managed to stay up for a while longer, and our pilots did a good job helping our ground forces secure some flags early on. If it weren't for our planes, Vanguard's Mi-8s would have pounded us. Partway through the round, we managed to gray one of the south flags. One thing lead to another, and eventually we held all 3 flags on the ground. Their MiGs and Mi-8s circled and tried in vain to pick us off, but we dug in and held on. They eventually managed to take one flag, but we held the other 2 and kept the bleed going to win 65-0.
Round 3 gave us the side choice, and we decided to just take ARVN again. This time, we decided to go after their MiG-17 tower with a Cobra, and took it out. We thought this would save our Cobra tower, but their MiG-17s stayed up and hidden well enough that we would only get one last Cobra ride before it was gone for good. In any event, our second course of action was to sacrifice a Cobra to take down the Mi-8 tower, and this time we succeeded. However, it seemed like every time we did this, Vanguard countered by taking out one of our own towers - our Phantom tower did not last too much longer either, but it bought us enough time to get a foothold on the island. Vanguard was in the lead by this point, but we knew that gaining 2 points would be enough to turn things around. Our ground forces pressed on, and we managed to snag another point in the south and turn things around. Without support from people bailing out of planes, we had a hard time holding the points - Vanguard often grayed the south point, but we would fight hard and change it back. We slowly gained the lead this way - without helicopters or bombers in the air the ground fighting became slow and methodical, and every frag counted. In the end we managed to pull ahead, and hold on long enough to finish them off 35-0.
Warning: match report may not be fully accurate, as things happened so fast and I was all pumped up :>
IMO it was a great game, and well played by both sides. It's unfortunate that the match had to be tainted by all the drama, and I'm hoping that people on both sides can get over it. |

| Well we started the week out strong with a win over confederacy on railyard 13-7. We prepared long and hard for that match, unfortunately due to Memorial Day we had to move it from Sunday to Tuesday to accomodate confederacy. We then went into harbor mode and played DER TKO and got a nice win on that 18-2. That only left us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to prepare for our next match on Neuville against hostdome. We put in some decent amount of time and preperation but they edged us out in the end. We tied 10-10 in the beginning and lost in overtime 3-2. I could put a million different reasons for losing but I'll mainly blame it on spiral for not showing up, as he is a big part of our team, you jerk. :) Anyway a good showing for us and I think a morale booster because we were able to almost win without spiral who was carrying us for our first couple of matches. GG's and we'll get our revenge in the playoffs! On to brecourt :(? |

Thursday we played a great match on oasis versus Greater Than, a team who had beat us earlier in the tournament. Both matches were great fun, and I'm happy to say we prevailed when elimination was on the line.
Tomorrow night at 10:30 we go up against the one team who has beaten us more than any other team...Deathtouch. (formerly Rotators) This match will definately be a challenge for us, played on Radar.
Good luck, have fun, like men to Deathtouch. Looking forward to a great match. |

| After long deliberation...20ID wins! |
|
|
 |
 |
TWL justly awarded us the win after being contested by Ravens aka Vanguard...and on to the TWL tournament finals we go.
The match was a great victoly and we had a lot of fun defeating Vanguard. There were some server difficulties at first, but in the end we forgot the issues and just played. Fantastic effort by everyone who played.
We come through unscathed, and appreciate the lessons we learned from such an encounter as this, both in-game and out-of-game.
We thank TWL in their considerable deliberation efforts and applaud their choice in making the appropriate decision. There were many people in TWL's staff who spent many hours researching and analyzing the situation. We appreciate it! The world is indeed what you make of it. |

| We had a fun game against The Kindread tonight though it was pretty one-sided. It reminded me of BF:1942 Season 1, excluding the plethora of problems we had with servers. We had our ts server go down right before the match started, and we jumped on pFg's ventrilo server. Thanks pFg guys. Oh boy! was fun by the way. GG kthx ventrilogay. [Kin] had their equal share of problems but instead with BFV. Once we got rolling everything seemed to go pretty smoothly with the occasional crackle and stfu on ventrilo, though the match was a long one. Robot voices #1. |

We want to welcome Ethos and Supersquat to the BFV squad. They were past pFg members, and continue to play for Pub All Stars for TWL 8v8. They will be playing for everything else BFV has to offer for us. They have a history of liking men and excel at being gay. As Ginc would say \o/.
We played SPDS31 tonight. They were on time and prompt. Unfortunately, many of their guys dropped near the end of the 4th map, we paused, waited several minutes, and they dropped again. We offered to wait again, however they chose to continue the round. GG SPDS31. |

We had fun playing Impact. It was very courteous of them to so thoroughly ensure we were playing the guys listed on our tourny roster. GG Impact. We look forward to continuing our journey in this tournament. Kraxx liked men more than the rest us this match. WTBG!
We look forward to playing Kindread on the TWL 12v12 ladder in defense of #1. It should be a good game! We also have another 8v8 TWL ladder match coming up soon.
We continue to look into prospective members, and some new member names should be popping up soon.

We played Masterful and Determined the other night on dawnville and won pretty easily 15-5, taking our record to 3-0, go us. We also tried to play a makeup match on harbor against Against All Odds, but when we told them they were using a ringer, which they were, they just said wa wa we dont want to play. So we need makeups on harbor and POWcamp still, and we play some other guys on railyard this week, who frozen says is actually good so we have to scrimmage :O
A final note on CoD we added a new member chrono formerly of cool guys. Chrono will definetely be a great help to spiral and me determining strats and is a good round player to help our team move on. Expect to see random naked girls with [20ID] on their butts in the future lololol. |

Well we played our first match in CoD this past Sunday on mp_depot and we won pretty easily 18-2. Some sloppy errors on our part for being a new team gave our opponents the chance to capitolize on the two rounds they won, but we are progressing nicely. I forgot to mention that we picked up spiral (spelled not gay) from rat madness, a cal-m team. Sprial has been a blessing to this team, helping me with positions and tips for our current players, and showing off in many ways great leadership qualities.
BizZ is also finished with exams so he should become active again, and we have a pretty big roster right now with all the members in our other games coming over, so expect our recruiting scene to be closed for a while. I think Frozen has set up make up matches for two of the maps that we missed because we joined so late, and ill post the results of those here once we play them. GG's to our opponents last week, gl to our opponents this week, and good bye cause im going to bed! |

In the last two days, we played two 8v8 matches. The matches included CBA for the 8v8 TWL ladder and LP for the TWL tournament. CBA was a slightly less challenging of the two matches. Both were good games and we enjoyed ourselves. In the LP match, we especially enjoyed Jam driving into Grom's mines with the APC. No-Quiero-Morir got the macho man award tonight for being such a newb and he likes men. Congrats.
Soon, we have a match against FMJ for the 12v12 TWL ladder, DP for the 8v8 TWL ladder, and L'Exil Noir for the 8v8 tournament. |

Yeah theres been some rumor that we might tackle cod, and after playing around a bit on some cod servers with BizZ and ginc, we have decided to at least give cod a try competitively. This is a step in a new direction for 20ID, as most of our games have been faster paced than cod, which is much more counter-strikish, which we've tried to keep away from :). Surprisingly cod is kind of fun, and with some dedication and practice theres no doubt in my mind we will be a known name in the cod community among upper level clans :). Ill keep everyone up to date when we play our first match and all, till then godinc is a fruit.
Onto ET. Well we lost to suave on radar on Sunday which was a dissapointment for us because we actually developed a strat that was pretty decenet. Its a shame we only scrimmed once with it and we lost some communication to let them cap. Either way gg's was a fun match. Some more depressing news in the et scene, with the idea that 20ID is moving into cod, carcass, myself, and cyric (who is thinking of cod but is mostly obsessed with guild wars!) will probably be moving on from the et team. I know that our ET team still wants to continue so pm Newdeal because we are recruiting and good luck to the team in their future endevours! |

To give us a little more play time in 8v8 matches we recently decided to join the TWL 8v8 BFV ladder. It should prove to be challenging and different than 12v12. We're at rung 107 and on our way up to rung 69 as we challenge Cyber Breed Assassins (1-3).
The IGLnet tournament still has not started...
Tonight, we had a TWL tournament match against *HFE*. They were prompt, friendly, and we liked playing against them. The score was 219-0 after the two rounds on The Siege of Khe Sahn. Things went pretty smoothly both as axis and allies. On to round 3... |

Just wanted to add that last night we played Amish in Cal's loser brackets. Yeah rotators knocked us out again :( but our win in the loser bracket keeps us in the race to win cal this season. All we have to do is beat suave next week, beat some other really good team after them, then beat the final team twice because we are in the losers bracket, no biggie right :).
Good luck to the BFV team and maybe I will pick up COD or PK over the summer to see what all this talk is about. And finally GODINC IS COOL FOR FINALLY UPDATING THE WEBPAGE \o\ \o/ /o/ (I only had to bug the shit out of him for 3 months!) |

Altogether, we are 3-0, not including tonight. We just received a forfeit win against CSAB. OMGomg gg and great teamwork 20ID!1 Leet win. No really, it's too bad. CSAB seemed like they would have been great to play against, and all of us looked forward to playing them. Hope everything goes well with you CSAB!
As far as 20ID is concerned, things are going pretty well with us. The active members are coming together as a team very nicely. Ginc, Jam, and I have been plugging away on the strats, the strat page, and are quite busy outside of the game. I applaud Jam to be able to tolerate the debate of war strategies with me, not to mention his unbelievably thorough work he does behind the scenes.
We may be seeing a few new members soon if all goes well, so we'll be seeing how things go with all of them. A relatively new member to the BFV squad is No-Quiero-Morir aka No Queero. Welcome No-Quiero, even if this post is a bit ex post facto. I'm also happy to see many of the old and new-old/old-new members since I've been gone.
All the following true except the 4-0 thing...;)
------------------
A note from Kraxx:
------------------
A win over MOB in the twl tourny section and a forfeit by csab in the 12's ladder has made the dongs grow large to 4-0 in bfv. also Launching us to challenge the number 1 seeded team on the ladder [SHS]
So for 12's we are soon to play Strictly Hostile Soldiers and for the tourny we advanced to round 2 and play Hellfire Empire
anyways check back for more news later peace |

Well, as some people expected, the CPL BF1942 tourney got cancelled. It's too bad that the BF community couldn't get enough teams to go, but them's the breaks. With no reason to compete in BF1942 and a lack of interest, we've decided to call it quits. GGs to everyone.
We're gonna take it easy in BF:V - it remains to be seen if the game will get a good patch or a bad one. We're in some TWL tournament thing with prizes, hopefully it will be fun. Dakota and jam are doing a good job on the leadership end, and I appreciate this very much as I finally get to relax :>
ET's still chugging along, despite some consistency issues. Things are looking up though, with the return of Fum and bub to ET action, and the addition of RTCW player Nomad to the roster.
As for me and BizZ... we're content to take a break from hardcore leadership, at least for a little while.
Also, I'm gonna be making some more changes to the page, so if things are b0rked, be patient :> |

Just kidding, this update is gonna be crappy. Btw, fum's multicolored rants should say SENS FREAK, not snes. Unfortunately the Sens lost in 7 games to those faggots from Toronto :/
Anyways, 20ID is a quasi-multi-gaming type deal now, although not on purpose. Since the last update from me, the ET team has become more independent - since losing most of the BF players from the roster, they recruited a bunch of replacements and have continued to play. 20ID-ET is doing alright - we're not winning any championships, but we're winning enough to be in the top tier leagues (CAL-I and TWL Alpha) now that CAL and TWL are finally splitting into multi-tier systems.
Our BF Vietnam team has been born - sorry, no roster section on the webpage yet. Right now it's just a bunch of friends, old retired 20ID bf guys, with a few additions from various backgrounds. We're doing good so far, although competition has only begun and the game isn't exactly balanced yet :o We did beat D2D tonight on the TWL ladder for our first official win though \o/
That brings us to our third team, the BF1942 team. Right now things are up in the air for this team - CPL's tournament for this game is in danger because of a lack of team signups in a long while. It's looking like the prize money will be cut, and there's a possibility this may cause a downward slide that may kill the tourney entirely. Because of this, we've lost a bit of interest in the game, and BizZ/fum have gone inactive. With CPL looking uncertain, we're taking things one step at a time, and have recruited a few guys to help us get through the remainder of the CAL 8v8 season. Wat? is still helping us to get to CPL if it happens, although no official contracts have been signed yet - they are waiting until they have all possible sponsors 100% secure before they make their promises. In other words, no official details yet.
Until next time, fum is a jerk and likes men. |

In our search for sponsoring organizations that would help us get to the CPL for the $50,000 BF1942 tourney, we came across Clan Wat? (We Aren't Trying) - a multigaming team that has played Quake, CS, RTCW, and recently Halo and CoD. After some talks with their leader and manager, we found that they would be very helpful and give us financial support if our BF1942 team became their BF1942 division.
As a result, our CPL-bound BF1942 team has partnered with Clan Wat?. We will represent them at the CPL this summer. I'm not going to divulge any details about the partnership yet, as it is still a work in progress, but I look forward to working with them.
Anyways, 20ID completed the CAL-BF 8v8 minileague with a 4-0 record, punctuated by a win over our old rivals Demise on Thursday. Our small 9-man roster seems to be working well, and we're looking forward to the start of the official league, which is very soon. Preseason starts right away, and we play TFS on Caen this week. Should be fun.
Our CPL roster is basically our starting 9 for CAL, and the members are:
ginc, BizZ, jam, bub, Enemy, fum, Speedy, vicodin, Vigilance
We may accept a 10th member for our CPL team, but it will be invite only (of course). The 10th would most likely be an ace pilot.
Finally, I'm going to be fixing the webpage up a bit, to reflect the fact that we're active in BF1942 again. This means you'll probably see the Tigercock picture on the front again! \o/ |

| Just in case you didnt know, 20ID was provided a BF 1942 server from our friends at WOLFgaming (www.wolfgaming.net). The IP is 66.179.164.25:14567 and although new, we hope to get it vasly populated. You will also be able to find us playing on that server as well, so be prepared for a good server with at least a little skill :). Thanks again to WOLFgaming for the generosity, and 20ID continues its long standing history of never paying for a server, cheap bums for life!!! |

After some discussion, we've decided that yes, we will be planning on attending the CPL this summer, for the BF1942 tournament. Although returning to BF might be considered a step backwards for 20ID, I personally think this would be a great opportunity to unite a large group of 20ID d00ds in Real Life(tm) and get the costs covered by prize money. We aren't selling out, as we've played the game for a year before and excelled at it. The reasons for us retiring from BF1942 don't apply very much any more: we're in 8v8 (no roster problems), and there will be more competition. It would be rather stupid for us NOT to go :>
To make room for BF stuff, we have dropped CAL-ET (which was still in preseason anyway). We have also decided that we will finish TWL-ET season 2 since we are on week 4 of regular season. ET roster changes: WhiteFire decided to leave for a more "serious" ET team a few weeks ago, but his new team promptly went inactive. Go figure. Our ET team in general is less active than before, but we only have one match a week anyway. We picked up Newdeal to help us out for the rest of the TWL season, welcome aboard.
Anyways, we're in CAL's new 8v8 BF1942 league, as it will play a large role in determining CPL seedings. Our roster for BF1942 is a mix of 20ID's BF players from both season 1 and season 2, with a few added friends ^__^
I will get an official roster up later, but for now, here it is:
Active: ginc, BizZ, bub, jam, Vigilance, Enemy, Speedy, fum, vicodin
Not so active: obliv(shit connection), Frozen(too young for CPL), Drakka(likes men), Sosha(college), Phr00t(likes men) |

Same shit, different day.
ET has been really slow lately, due to the holidays and an extended preseason. We finally got into regular season play in TWL, only to get a forfeit win tonight :( CAL preseason hasn't even started yet either, so basically we're a little underpracticed and anxious to get playing.
On a totally unrelated note, the CPL has announced that they'll be holding a BF1942 tournament at their summer event with $50,000 in prizes. While 20ID did quit BF1942 4 or 5 months ago, we are entertaining the idea of sending a team to compete anyway. At the very least it would be an excuse to get the clan together IRL for some manlove and other crazy shenanigans. As the CPL event is only 8v8, it wouldn't be terribly hard for us to make a team of former 20ID BF players and throw in cool guys like bub and jam ^__^
But... back to ET. CPL is more than 6 months away, so we're gonna stick with the present game we love. Our roster situation has been getting a little tighter lately, and it may get worse when Bizz and Fum go back to college. As a result, we're RECRUITING (again). Like before, we only need 1 or 2 players, and they must be good, with experience in good ET clans. We need someone who can contribute to the team, not someone who we'll bench. If you have what it takes, PM ginc, bizz or jam on IRC or drop by #20id on gamesnet.
p.s. You must like men. |
